Kiska Kashmir

it seems that finally kashmir-movement has got the support from its most unlikely corner, the few of celebrities and intellectuals of India. recently Arundhati Roy said that India should give away what kashmiries want. the AZADI from India. the dying movement has got some real impetus from the recent Amarnath row. now the anti India campaign is at the pinnacle since the rise of millitancy in valley. but the real question now is: whom do the valley & kashmiries belong to? should it be gifted to Pakistan or it be left as free independent country? will it be able to survive as an independent nation? how will it meet its requirements of oil, food and commerce? a completely land locked country with so less of modes of transport & communication, would always be dependent on the mercy of its neibours. with a hegemonistic country like China, would it ever be sure of its future? the market of the fragmenting Pakistan is neither as big nor as well connected to support the development of the region. moreover the region may fall prey to the islamic militia (Neighbouring taliban)and terrorism, creating a permanent threat to India. US may find it a stretagically better placed base against china. so finally Pakistan won't gain as ISI people feel. but should India pay the ever increasing price not only in monetary terms but also in terms of loss of lives and its image.

i think along with giving opinion on big issues such as kashmir et al we should also actually do something. We indians talk too much and actually do less
It could be even very small things such as; keeping our neighbourhood clean, visiting the nearest government school/hospital to see what we can contribute in terms of giving old books, clothes, medicines, money as charity

what do all say??
more later
bye
